The Man of Lawlessness

The Man of Lawlessness

We read about this in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12 in which, the "man of lawlessness" is a biblical figure mentioned in 2 Thessalonians 2, often associated with the Antichrist, who will oppose God and exalt himself during the end times.

Some things Christians should be aware of when trying to note the sign of the times in regards to this man:
His Opposition to God
Deceptions and Signs
He will be connected to the Antichrist
Eschatological Role - this will be a significant event for the end times

Before we go down a rabbit hole of conspiracy theories, take heart believer and realize that Jesus tells us clearly that He has overcome the world. We are also told to expect the world to hate those who believe in Jesus Christ for their salvation (true believers and true Christians.

This is where we need to pivot the conversation: Instead of spending so much wasted time on social media (you know what I mean) why not spend time in God’s Word, In Prayer to the Triune God and using spiritual disciplines (like fasting) to draw closer to the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.

As a husband and father of 4 wonderful children, I have to be honest by not hiding the fact that I often wonder if I am around for the end times: What does that mean for my family and me? Will there be pain and suffering? Will there be unbearable times? Will God provide protection for those that call him by name?
I wish that I could confidently tell you all the answers to my questions, but I cannot. But, I can tell you that I know the One who has all of the answers. I don’t understand the ramifications of these times and troubles, but what I do understand is that I have counted the cost and have decided that Jesus is worth it.
Instead of revving your mind up and falling to the unholy trinity of fear, shame and guilt…why not lean on the incredible understanding of King Jesus. Yield to his commands, that is, don’t just hear them, do what they say. Draw nearer to God and his Word promises that He will draw nearer to us.

Remember, when in doubt, pray. When scared or faced with more than you can handle, seek God and His Kingdom first. Eternity is secure in these.

Blessings,
